December 2024 Newsletter
Thank you for your interest in and support of Hope Renewed. We are so happy you are here. Read on for updates.
Advent Dinners
We will be serving assorted soups, salad, bread and mac & cheese before the evening advent service at Bloomington Lutheran Church on Wednesday, December 11th from 5:00-6:15 pm and at Living Hope Lutheran Church on Wednesday, December 18th from 5:00-6:15 pm. All free-will offerings received will go towards the startup fund for opening our store.
Exploring Potential Retail Locations
As we continue to raise startup funds, we are preparing to move into our next phase. We are working with our broker, exploring potential retail locations for our shop.
It’s an Opportune Time to Open a Thrift Store
According to a recent report from Thredup (an online marketplace for secondhand clothing), the US secondhand clothing market grew 7 times faster than the broader retail market in 2023 and is expected to reach 73 billion by 2028.

Fundraising Update
We are currently about halfway to our fundraising goal of $200,000. The money we are raising now is to open our doors. Once we open, we expect to be financially self-sufficient and will not require ongoing monetary donations to continue operating.
Store Volunteers
Are you excited to volunteer at our store? We will need help sorting and processing donations, cashiers, and many other volunteers when we open. Please contact us and let us know you would like to be added to the list of potential future volunteers for the store.
Visiting a Church Near You
This winter, we plan to visit area WELS churches and schools to talk about our mission and plans for Hope Renewed Thrift Store. We may be visiting a church near you. Stay tuned.
